Going for a T-Rex 450 clone…
I’ve been flying a LMH RC helicopter several years ago. But somehow I did not really get warm with that helicopter. Maybe just because at that time I did not really have any deeper knowledge of how helicopters work and why/how they fly. Obviously I crashed the heli a lot. Although I repaired it as thoroughly as I could it became almost unflyable. So I sold it on eBay about 3 month after I got it.
About 18 months ago I bought a brand new E-Sky Lama v4 RTF Kit on eBay for only €40. And that thing really kicked me back into the hobby. I haven’t flown the Lama v4 much the last few months. But I did spent a lot of time with the transmitter hooked up the my RealFlight G4 simulator. And I think I’m now ready to try the real thing and buy a 450size helicopter.
I’ve watched a lot of build and setup videos for T-Rex 450 helis and clones an I decided to go and build one myself. I’ll probably buy all the needed parts from www.hobbyking.com. They have all the needed components available and that way I don’t have to order from several stores. So hopefully I can save some money on shipping costs 😉
This is what’s on my shopping list so far. Probably going to order it within the next few weeks:
- HK450V2 CCPM 3D Helicopter Kit (Align T-rex Compat.) Ver. 2
- HXT900 9g servos
- ZIPPY Flightmax 2200mAh 3S1P 25C
- TURNIGY Sentry 40amp Speed Controller
- Hobby King 401B AVCS Digital Head Lock Gyro
- Turnigy Typhoon 450H 2215H Heli Motor 3550kv (450 class)
- HK7x-M2 2.4Ghz 7ch w/ 5 Model Memory TX & RX (Mode 2)
Including the shipping from Hong Kong the whole thing only costs about $200 (€150). So after paying VAT and customs it should cost me somewhere around €180, which is a real great deal!
So hopefully I can provide you with some detailed information about the HK450 helicopter soon…
I almost never comment, however i did a few searching and wound up here Going for a T-Rex 450 clone
