Bind a DSM2 receiver to a Walkera DEVO transmitter
I’ve created a new video in which I show you the steps needed to bind a DSM2 or DSMX receiver to a Walkera DEVO transmitter. See more below…
The video walks you step by step through the process of setting of a model in the transmitter to use the DMS2 protocol. Then I use a HobbyKing OrangeRX R615 DMS2 receiver to show you the detailed bind process.
This video assumes that you already installed the deviation software to your DEVO transmitter. If you have not installed deviation yet, you might want to watch this video in which I show the installation processed step by step:
Install DEVIATION on a Walkera Devo transmitter
Will this bind with bnf models?
Yes of course. In this mode it will bind with any models that have a DSM2 (or DSM2 compatible) receiver in them.
Does this by chance work with any Walkera transmitter, specifically an Devo F12E?
Please go to http://www.deviationtx.com/ for further info on which transmitters are supported.
At the moment it lists: DEVO 6/6S/7E/8/8S/10/12/12S/F7*/F12E*
So your’ F12E should be good to go (as long as you use the latest version)
So do I have to do the mod for the DEVO to bind to my nano qx? Or can I bind it stock?
No hardware mod is needed, if that’s what you mean. You need to update the firmware of the transmitter nothing more. With the new firmware you can set the DEVO transmitter to use DSMX as transmitter protocol.
Can I do this with a DEVO 7?
No, the Devo7 does not have a full graphics display. Only the Devo transmitters with full graphics display are supported.
See https://www.deviationtx.com/ for details and a list of supported transmitters
